Growing up my Grandfather worked at Polaroid for many years. I was the grandkid who was always playing with the cameras, fascinated by how they work and the memories they captured. When I was 17, I was gifted my first digital camera. I took pictures of sunsets, oceans, bridges, and boats. Capturing what I believed to be the coolest picture of a starfish sitting on the beach, I proudly displayed my photo on my mother's wall. (If you want to see the iconic picture, go to my first blog post!) This marked the beginning of my journey into photography. I found joy in photography as a hobby, but after graduating college with degrees in Business Management and Psychology, I knew I wanted to start a business in photography and incorporate my artistic/creative side. To gain photography experience, I eagerly took on the role of second shooter at a wedding in the mountains. That day, something ignited within me. The stunning sunset and mountain view, coupled with the overwhelming joy in the air, stirred a newfound passion within me. I knew I wanted to be a wedding photographer!
From there, I immediately joined a Facebook group for fellow photographers and came across a Mentorship opportunity for wedding photography. It was a summer filled with excitement, learning, and awe of what my future could hold. I learned things from technical skills, to posing techniques, and even crafting wedding timelines. This was the stepping stone to what would be the start of owning my own business.
In November of 2021, I proudly launched my business under the name VGPhotography. I created a website, ordered business cards, and honed my editing style (And wow, we've come a long way!). As I grew my business, I rebranded myself as Victoria George Photography, created a new website and expanded my portfolio. I am excited for every wedding season to begin and I feel grateful for the opportunity to pursue this passion everyday!
